Announcements/Business:
  • Virtual District 5450 Conference: August 29. All members are encouraged to participate, especially our new members.

  • District Governor, Bob Kemp, will visit our Club in November 17th. The District Governor visits every club during the Rotary year.

  • District 5450 is offering “specials” for the Business Directory; contact Marlis for more information.

  • The Celebration of Life will be held during the District Conference, honoring Rotarians who have passed away this year. If you know of a Rotarian we have lost this year, please let Marlis know. Mat is one we all know.

  • The Conifer Festival: August 15, Cars Tribute Band, Mint Edition and a Blue Grass band that is being approached by Tom. During the time when guests are arriving, Conifer High School musicians will be playing. We will have food by Los Three Garcias. Amanda is working to get other food trucks; licensing is an issues.

  • Back Pack Food is coming: Charlotte will put out a call for help to pick up food at Food Bank of the Rockies one day next week. We have been given a grant for $2000 which we must spend by the end of this month. This will be a large load of food, so we will need large vehicles.

  • Denver Rotary District 5450 is a sponsor of  the Woohoomanity Challenge bike ride, September 12. They need volunteers to help support the riders. Lesley will contact that Club to see if members of our Club can volunteer as a group. The web-site:  www.bikesignup.com/woohoomanity. Lesley will send the information to our Club to determine our interest—in both financial support and volunteering. More information will be coming and a decision as to whether we will participate.

  • Mask project: Eleven elementary schools are covered 8400+ masks. The sewers will continue more slowly going forward, especially to have masks for the Conifer Festival. We will be sending thank-you’s to all our sewers and folks who donated material for the project. We will investigate how we can get publicity for the work we’ve done.

  • The sewing team will be invited to make T-Shirt bags for peaches so we can divide cases of the fruit. Angela will get Rotary information flyers to go into the bags as well as have stickers to go on the bags.

  • There will be a virtual meeting Thursday evening to continue planning the Conifer Festival. All members may participate. Wes will send the link.

  • The evening group will be meeting in Angela’s back yard, in person, tomorrow, Wednesday, July 22. All are invited.
