Sponsoring a family for the holidays: We would like to help sponsor 5 families for Christmas again. We will be trying to help those who need assistance and  some lifting up during the holiday season. This will include fundraising of donations like we did last year to buy gifts as well as Christmas trees and ornaments/decorations. We may be able to get some decorated trees from Mt. Evans Hospice, thank you to Betsy!

Rotary Youth Exchange: We don’t currently have any students for the outbound program. Youth exchange is amazing, so if anyone knows of any kids, try to encourage them to see if they can get rushed into the program.

Area 8 Social: The Area 8 Social Committee is trying to secure El Rancho for our Area 8 social which is planned for April 6 2022.   Yvonne needs to get a rough head count for this event back to the committee by the end of next week.  The cost for the social will be $40. Please let Yvonne know if you’re planning to attend.

Thank you to:
  • Diana for hosting a social this past Friday in her beautiful home!
  • Arana for hosting the district webinar last week on HeartMath. Thanks also to Charlotte and Denise for being there to support her!
  • Thank you to everyone who volunteered at the Conifer Christmas Parade this past weekend!

Our club, along with the other Area 8 clubs, made a donation to Resiliance1220 so they could get matching funds from the district. We received this lovely thank you note from Heather Aberg:

Wonderful Rotarians, I want to thank each of you for the work you’ve put into this Area 8 Grant which will allow for Resilience1220 to see more youth in counseling! We are now receiving at least one call per day so this money will allow us to serve these wonderful kids! Deep appreciation as we change the face of mental health together!

White Elephant: We need to start planning our White Elephant Holiday Party for sometime in early January.  If you’d like to host this year’s event, please reach out to me.  For those of you new to the club, we do our holiday party in January so that everyone has the opportunity to get rid of an unwanted gift they received this year.
