Volunteer for Wildfire Evacuation Route Thinning

Did you know that many people die in a wildfire because they are stuck in a traffic jam with flames on the side of the road? Conifer Rotary is tackling this problem and we need you to volunteer.  Conifer neighbors are making a difference in our wildfire danger.  This is our third year; we need your help with organizing property owners, posting on social media, directing traffic, hauling branches and chain sawing. We have insurance and county permits. We love your donations to cover project expenses like slash drop-off fees.

This summer we plan to work on:

  • Hwy 73, south of Marshdale (again)
  • Hwy 126 south of Pine Junction (again)
  • Pleasant Park Road, starting south of Oehlmann Park Road (new)

Can you help contact neighbors to organize more? Conifer’s major evacuation routes expected to jam also include: Foxton, South Turkey Creek and Deer Creek Canyon roads.

Many thanks to past volunteers, and the tree companies who provided free and seriously discounted days of expert help: Old Growth Tree Service, LAM Tree Service, Asplundh, and Lee's Trees.
