Program: Castles & Kitchens
Tom Becker and Fran Arniotes

The menu for breakfast is a frittata, blintzes, potato pancakes!  Fun!!! And Fabulous!

Tom and Fran joined us to talk about their new have started a new business "Castles and Kitchens".  They teach cooking classes at Blue Mountain Kitchens in Conifer.  By the way, this is an evening event, definitely not school.  Attendees participate fully in preparing gourmet food while learning good techniques and procedures, then there is the wine they supply, and the social fun, and of course, the eating part.  It is a night out, where the attendees get to be actively involved in the fun.  Tom and Fran focus on fun, food, story telling and education about food history and cuisine.  In their kitchen they welcome guests with wine and appetizers, then they engage everyone in cooking and conversation.

Tom and Fran have worked together since the founding of Stage Door Theater years ago, after which they began cooking together.  Their styles are "polar opposites" according o Fran.  She embraces “tradition”---including history and the sources of inspiration in the kitchen.  Tom is the cook---out of the box for “flavor”, which is how he ran his restaurant in Evergreen.

Classes can accommodate as many as ten people at a time.  They can do custom classes for a group and they have a number of discounts available.  Often there is a focused theme class, such as the craft beer themed class in July.
Even more branching out, Fran is doing classes for kids from 7-18.  She has written a book, One Pot/One Pan, for college students or otherwise out on their own.
